This was an attempt to weave with metal. I used #8 acrylic crochet yarn and 0.6mm silver wire, and if you look carefully you can see Thóra Sharptooth's Birka Strapwork pattern. However, the wire did not twist very much and the yarn basically just wound itself around the wire, so the pattern did not come through properly.
I was working on a warp-weighted loom, and creating enough tension to keep the wire moderatly straight proved to be quite difficult. Also, the twist buildup in the wire was almost impossible to undo, so I terminated the band after about a foot.
